About Us

I am a second-generation ukulele maker from Puna, Hawaii .   I grew up in the wood shop doing simple instrument repairs and other projects.  In the fall of 2000, I went to a guitar building school in Canada (Timeless Instruments).   Island Traditions was officially started in 2001 and I continue to make custom ukuleles and guitars , am a certified Takamine warranty center, and also welcome instrument repairs.

I am also a member of the Big Island Ukulele Guild, a not-for-profit organization of ukulele professionals and hobbyists from around the orchid island.
